Aberdeen's local telephone company, Northern Valley Communications, recently completed an upgrade to the company's residential X-Stream service, which greatly increased the speed of the high-speed Internet service by doubling and in many cases tripling bandwidth capacity at no additional charge.
"We're please to announce a great improvement to an already popular product," stated NVC's CEO James Groft. "Broadband Internet is becoming more and more commonplace in homes throughout the area, and NVC feels we have the ideal option for Aberdeen residents. The upgrade will provide customers with a better online experience as they will download more information in less time. It also allows us to offer a second tier of high-speed Internet service called X-Stream Ultra, which provides about twice the bandwidth of the improved X-Stream, allowing customers to tailor an Internet connection that best fits their Internet usage."
In addition to being the largest Internet provider in northeast South Dakota, Northern Valley Communications is constructing a state-of-the-art telecommunications network throughout Aberdeen which will provide telephone, digital cable TV and high speed DSL Internet service. NVC is a wholly owned subsidiary of James Valley Telecommunications of Groton, a cooperative which has been providing telecommunication services to its members in northeast South Dakota for over 50 years. JVT serves the communities of Andover, Brentford, Bristol, Claremont, Columbia, Conde, Doland, Ferney, Frederick, Groton, Hecla, Houghton, Mansfield, Mellette, Northville, Stratford, Turton and Verdon. |
