James grew up in Ashton and graduated from Northwestern High School in Mellette. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business Management from the University of South Dakota.

James worked for Spink Electric prior to its merger with Northern Electric Cooperative of Bath in 1997. When NVC first started its Internet operations, James provided technical support services to Internet customers and performed billing and accounting services. In May of 1999 James became the Manager of Accounting for NVC, later he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, and he now serves as the company's CEO.

Rick is a native of Aberdeen and graduated from North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton with an Associate of Science degree in Computer Systems.

Rick has worked for a variety of telephone and long distance companies including MCI, Dial Net, McLeod and First Tel, gaining valuable experience with phone and data systems and LAN cabling. He has also acquired certification in the installation and maintenance of a wide selection of phone systems and equipment. Prior to working for NVC, Rick owned Pro-Link, an Aberdeen based phone systems business. NVC purchased Pro-Link in April of 1999 to provide integrated communications services to its customers.
